Black Squirrels are here to offer an aural respite from Omaha�s standard-issue indie rock. The group (now a quartet) is influenced by the rich tradition of American country music. Although their reverence for the past runs deep, this is no retro act. Black Squirrels meld a modern, literate twist onto the old forms, and place a premium on strong original songs, whether it�s a four-to-the-floor barnburner, or a gently swaying waltz. Their debut CD, Last Of The Ghost Town Gang (Nectar & Venom), was released in 2007 to positive reviews.
