Broken Letters exist as the primary medium for the songwriting and vocal lyricism of David Hickox. With a crooked draft of melody and a penchant for dark and Biblical delivery, the Broken Letters create songs of love and death, birth and pain, of the moon and a great fire. Hickox is aided in his quest by drummer and multi-instrumentalist Brad Davis. They met at a piano recital in 2nd grade, bought instruments and then earned to play music together. For the past 10 years, they’ve been members of Plate Six, playing across the US and Europe but then broke off to start playing as a 2 piece. They released a 5 song EP this past summer and this tour they’ll be promoting their new full length album entitled The Broken Letters Sing the Burning Alphabet which comes out Summer 2008. It will be backed by both a tour and national press campaign handled by Team Clermont. In their relatively short time as a band, they’ve shared the stage with such bands as Low, Dan Sartain (as his backing band), Jason Molina/Songs: Ohia, Adam Franklin (Swervedriver) and Appleseed Cast.
