An eclectic group of entertainers including legendary hip-hop lady emcee Breathless and loom DJ Brent Crampton will hit the stage at the Waiting Room Lounge on July 6 to support the new community organization Y Not? Now! Founder and Omaha native Terrell Maxey dreamed up the idea for the grassroots Y Not? Now! to motivate young people to become “active members and future leaders in their community.” The organization’s kick-off will feature a string of local favorites. Alongside Breathless, singer-songwriter “It’s True” and soul veterans The Last Few will perform. DJ Brent Crampton and Power 106.9’s Hot Boy will spin records at the post-show dance party. The purpose, plans and goals of Y Not? Now! will be laid out in short informational sessions led by Maxey throughout the evening. Y Not? Now! aims to create an open forum for teenagers to thirty-somethings to become involved in their communities and be more interactive with each other.
