A four year fixture in the live music scene of Omaha, Nebraska, The Wholes (known then as Jazzwholes) became synonymous with Sunday nights. In the nightclubs they played, their dynamic live shows drew crowds of die-hard regulars and converted casual onlookers who happened into the experience. With tight musicianship and soulful songwriting, people across the spectrum could find something to hold onto week after week. In the past year, a personnel change started a new chapter for the band. Stripping down to a four-piece (and dropping the “Jazz”) the music became darker, catchier, and more focused- culminating in their October, 2007 release “Bella Vita”. Colored by the singing and songwriting of Andrew Bailie (guitar, vocals) and Nick Semrad (keyboards, vocals), and underpinned by the syncopated rhythm section of Matt Arbeiter (drums) and Seth Ondracek (bass) the 10 tracks on “Bella Vita” present a band with a solid sound and vision.
