High Places (Sower Records) is the sixth studio album from Matt Cox set to be released on vinyl, cd and digital download on April 20, 2018.
The self-produced follow up to The Cost OfEverything and the Value Of Nothing (2016) shows Cox and longtime bandmates Colin Duckworth (guitars) and Eric Elworth (bass) are in prime condition with new drummer Jarron Storm adding a sense of urgency to the groups’ well-polished sound. Also appearing throughout the album is Dan McCarthy (piano) of Omaha’s beloved McCarthy Trenching and Gino Meyer (charango) on “Palace Of The Sun.” Recorded and mixed at Hidden Tracks Recording Studio in Omaha, Nebraska by Jeremy Garrett and mastered by Doug Van Sloan at Focus Mastering. Matt Cox (vocals, guitar, harmonica, banjo, percussion); Colin Duckworth (electric and steel guitars, mandolin); Eric Elworth (upright bass, vocals, accordion, rhodes, organ); and Jarron Wayne Storm III (drums and percussion, vocals).
Since 2006, award-winning songwriter Matt Cox (Omaha, NE) has been recording and performing across the country both as a solo artist and with an ever-changing lineup of the area’s top talent. His road-worn vocals and signature harmonica style give the songs a refreshingly authentic and heartfelt sound and help share the storyteller’s unique, yet familiar perspectives on the vast canvas of life.
High Places will be available on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby and Homer’s Music in Omaha, Nebraska beginning April 20, 2018.
